Rising from Memories

Bangkit dari Kenangan
Bangkit dari Kenangan

In 2011, with great pride, I walked out of high school. The white-and-gray uniform was now just a memory, and the future stretched wide before my eyes. Four years later, in 2015, I earned my bachelor’s degree. It felt like standing on top of the world! But life doesn’t always go as expected. I started working as a waitress in a café, a place where people came and went with a cup of coffee.

There was nothing wrong with the job. I learned about humility and the warmth of serving others. But the desire to grow pushed me to switch jobs in 2017, working for an Event Organizer. It was a dynamic world, full of challenges, but also exciting.

Then, in the midst of all that bustle, I met him — the man who would later become my husband. In 2018, we got married. It felt like a beautiful dream. With him, I felt strong. A year later, we decided to start a garment business in Bandung. With nothing but determination and love, we wanted to create something from scratch.

But 2020 was a year full of trials. Our business slowly declined, not as beautiful as we had planned. Our lack of experience left our venture faltering. But my husband always said, “Failure is normal, as long as we keep our spirits up.” I looked at him and steeled my heart.

Sadly, that spirit was tested by an even greater trial. In 2022, God called him home. Losing him hit me hard, as if a part of me had gone with him. The days passed in painful silence. But I knew he would want me to rise again.

Two years after his passing, in 2024, I strengthened my resolve. I restarted the garment business we once built together. This time, better planned, more mature. I know it’s hard, but his spirited voice is always in my head.

Now, in 2025, I’m still fighting. The business may not yet be as fast-growing as I hope, but I won’t stop. I believe that as long as there is determination and prayer, good things will come. In the midst of this struggle, I keep walking — with memories and the strength of love that lives on in every step I take.
